STEP FORWARD
is an application development tool that can be licensed according to implementation options suitable to your immediate needs. Upgrade to a higher implementation option is accomplished by purchasing the applicable License Key. At present, we offer two options: Explorer and Navigator.

STEP FORWARD Explorer - Discontinued
This version is a single-user, single host release. Explorer is free and comes with a non-expiring license.

STEP FORWARD Navigator
This version is a multi-user, networked commercial-grade release. To license the Navigator version, download the Navigator Demo version first and then contact us to obtain the commercial license.

Regular Pricing

Special Pricing for STEP FORWARD Navigator
This special pricing is restricted to Educational Institutions and Not-For-Profit organizations. The negotiated License fee will not exceed 80% of normal fees and must be applied for in writing on an official letterhead or signed Purchase Order. To be considered for special pricing, the applicant must also provide some official documentation attesting to its status e.g., Annual Report, Yearbook, current Constitution, Financial Statement for the last fiscal year, etc.

This Special Pricing, if granted, does not imply that any consulting, technical development, configuration service, implementation, and support supplied by the Licensor or any of its Configurators will be waived or discounted. However, the Licensor or its Configurators may waive or discount certain fees at their own discretion on a case by case basis.

STEP FORWARD-based Gratis Applications

We are developing a number of STEP FORWARD-based applications that will be listed in our download page. These Gratis Applications will be added to and/or modified from time to time; so visit our Site regularly to see what is new. You may download these applications, free of charge, at any time whether for your personal use, development examples, or commercial deployment. They can be used “as-is” or modified by you to suit. However, they do not carry any guarantee as to suitability or marketability, for any purpose. Just keep in mind that you will need at least one copy of the Product to test or run them.

Some of these Gratis Applications will have table configurations that exceed the demo restrictions. We have provided a loop-hole for you that will enable you to run these expanded Gratis Applications as configured, even in Demo mode. Only the limitation placed on the number of records and transaction documents will persist. Also, depending on the table count of the Gratis or Tutorial Applications, you will not be able to increase the table count, if the Gratis number already equals or exceeds the established table limitations.

Installation Prerequisite

STEP FORWARD is protected by International Copyright Laws and the Trade Secret Laws of the various international jurisdictions. STEP FORWARD is provided in an installation file that clearly and obviously states that if you proceed with the installation, that you concur with the Licensing Terms and agree to be bound by them. You may view these Licensing Terms before commencing the download or before initiating the installation run.

Demo Download - What You Get

The download will supply you with a fully functional Demo copy of the most current STEP FORWARD Navigator version. However, it has certain volume restrictions*.

The download of the STEP FORWARD Demo copy will include the On-line documentation. In addition, you may download any other offerings shown including any sample configured databases, e.g., the Tutorial, as well as the necessary version of Java, if you don’t have it.

Technical Requirements

Hardware:
minimum of 512 Mb RAM. Processor speed: the more, the merrier.

Supported OS:
Windows 2000, XP, Red Hat Linux v9.

Supported databases:

SQL Server 2000, Sybase, Oracle, Mimer, McKoi.
(McKoi is a fully-featured relational database, written in Java, and is distributed with the demo.*)
Support for other databases is pending and will be implemented on a demand basis. (Technical prerequisite: SQL 92 Standards compliant.)

*Please note: You can carry out your development work in a supported database other than the supported database that you or your client wish to use for production purposes. STEP FORWARD allows you to export your configured tables and procedures into a file and then import them into another supported database.
