Run Processes

Process Submission
To run a Process, use the Process > Select menu item. If the Process takes run-time parameters, the Submission window shows one or more text fields where the parameter values are entered.

If the Run off line switch is On (checked), the process will be executed in the background, and its progress/final status can be monitored in the Saved Processes window.

Saved Processes Window
This window lists the reports that have been saved in the database and processes that are currently running in the background. After a Process is done, no further trace is left in the Saved Processes window.

Checking the Progress
If the Process is equipped with No button Alert Panel, the progress can be checked while running in the foreground or the background.

Schedule
Processes and Reports can be run in the background on a pre-scheduled basis. Scribe's Server regularly checks the scheduled jobs and submits them for execution at the required time. The Schedule panel is the same for Processes and Reports, only the information in the Title Bar changes with each situation.

Parameters (if any) that are used by the job are set as part of the schedule and passed to the Report/Process when the job is started by the Server. The Schedule options are easily defined as the view of this panel adjusts itself and presents various timing options to fit the Frequency selected.

Owner sets the identity of the user on whose behalf the job is executed. The user identity can be used by the report procedure for security, if the procedure designs calls for it.
