One key component of STEP FORWARD is the creation of Templates. These are used to define all relational database tables and control the input methodologies for accounting and non-accounting data.Templates are also used to lay out Print formats as part of the Report Builder functionalities.
For data input purposes you will:

The user-defined templates that create the underlying database tables needed
to store the defined data structures are referred to as Primary templates.
When it is desirable to have more than one template act as input device to
a given database table (e.g. use of different Procedures, or incremental update
by more than one person with different security masks), the user may clone
a Primary template. Cloned templates do not create underlying database tables;
rather, they direct data to the database tables created by their Primary template.
For data output purposes you will define Print Templates.
